Getting started

Download Glimpse for Mac or Windows and sign in. Then press ⌥ ⇧ 2 on a Mac or Alt Shift 2 on Windows, and drag over what you want to record. Click instead of dragging for the whole screen, or press Space to pick a window. After a two-second countdown it records, for up to 15 seconds. Press Done and the link is already on your clipboard.

I’d rather press Record myself

Open Glimpse’s Settings and turn off “Start recording after selecting”. After that, a Record button waits for you instead of the countdown.

My clip isn’t playing yet

Clips take a few seconds to process after you press Done. The link works straight away, and the page starts playing on its own once the clip is ready.

Who can watch my clips?

Private clips are only for you. Anyone with the link can be watched by anyone you send the link to, without signing in. You can change this on any clip’s page, and choose the default for new clips on your Account page.

On a Mac, Glimpse can’t record my screen

Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording, turn on Glimpse, then quit and reopen it.

My microphone isn’t recorded

On a Mac, turn on Glimpse in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. On Windows, go to Settings › Privacy & security › Microphone and turn on “Let desktop apps access your microphone”.

I forgot my password

Reset it here. We’ll email you a link to choose a new one.

Deleting clips or my account

To delete a clip, open it and choose Delete from the ⋯ menu. To delete your account and all your clips, go to your Account page.
